Inspired by Chinese contemporary ink drawings, my underwater photographic work is experimental and abstract, drawing on traditions of classical Chinese aesthetics and philosophy.

In the way “the brush becomes an extension of artist’s body”, my camera becomes my brush, then my life, and my aspiration. The ocean is my ink.

Reading of the world as essentially abstract, light reflections create a series of lines, and textures replacing forms, WATER and LIGHT as the lens “sees it”.

By shifting weight onto processes and materials that give a gesture and a motion new life on paper, my concept of chaos and intangibles is contradicted by order and the new form that has emerged from the weightless line and formless blotch. Chaos is now an essential part of the order, thus creating a strong intuitive “presence”.
